Pricing Overview
AfriRoute uses transparent, pay-as-you-go pricing. There are no setup fees, no monthly minimums, and no charge for undelivered messages. You pre-fund a wallet and pay only for what you use, with volume discounts applied automatically as you scale.
Pricing Principles
- Pay only for delivered traffic — failed and rejected messages are not billed.
- No setup or platform fees — start sending the day you sign up.
- Volume discounts auto-apply — your effective rate drops as monthly volume grows.
- Per-country rates — pricing reflects the real carrier cost in each market.

Volume Discount Tiers
Discounts are calculated on rolling 30-day delivered volume and applied automatically — no contract renegotiation required.

Worked Example
A retailer sends 120,000 SMS to Kenya in a month at a list price of $0.0120 per segment:
- List cost: 120,000 × $0.0120 = $1,440.00
- Growth tier discount (8%): −$115.20
- Total billed: $1,324.80
Payment Methods
Top up your wallet with any of the following:
- Mobile money (Telebirr, M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money)
- Visa / Mastercard
- Bank transfer (USD, EUR, local currency)
- Invoiced credit terms (Enterprise tier)
Currency and Billing Currency
List prices are quoted in USD for consistency across markets. You may fund your wallet in USD or a supported local currency; conversions use the daily mid-market rate plus a 1% FX margin, shown transparently on every statement.
Free Trial Credit
New accounts receive $5 in trial credit — roughly 400–600 SMS depending on destination — to test integrations before funding a wallet. Trial credit cannot be used for production marketing campaigns.
