Sandbox Mode
Use sandbox mode to validate request shape, auth, webhooks, and error handling before sending real traffic.
What Sandbox Is For
- Testing request payloads.
- Confirming authentication and scopes.
- Exercising retry and error handling.
- Validating webhook receivers.
- Training your team without live billing impact.
Sandbox behavior may be simulated or restricted. Do not use sandbox status as proof of carrier delivery.
Configure Sandbox
AFRIROUTE_API_BASE_URL=https://api.afriroute.ai
AFRIROUTE_API_KEY=YOUR_SANDBOX_KEY
Keep keys in your environment or secret manager. Do not paste real keys into docs, tickets, logs, screenshots, or public repositories.
Example
curl --request POST "$AFRIROUTE_API_BASE_URL/api/v1/sms/send" \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $AFRIROUTE_API_KEY" \
--header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data '{
"to": "+251900000000",
"message": "Sandbox test",
"country": "ET",
"senderId": "AFRIROUTE"
}'
